What can we expect from Illuvium: Zero
Illuvium: Zero is dropping in under 3 days and we already have lots of details about how its going to work, lets detail what you need to know.
December felt like it moved relatively slowly and although the Illuvium Overworld dropped early on it has been streamed by many including myself. Today I want to focus on Illuvium: Zero since I am particularly excited for it and I feel like it has lots of potential for the Illuvium metaverse as a whole. Not just as a significant part of the ecosystem and earning but as a mobile title it has a distinct advantage in terms of mass adoption.
Since I spent most of December relaxing and taking some time away with family and friends Decembers Article will be very brief, however insightful. The topics covered today are:
What does the Illuvium: Zero release timeline actually look like
What is Illuvium: Zero?
How can you best optimise your land?
Can Illuvium: Zero help bring millions of players to Illuvium?
We will cover all of that here and more so please keep reading. I am excited to share this journey with you.
When does Illuvium: Zero release
Those who purchased Illuvium land have been waiting for the release of the land game for over 6 months and the time has finally come.
In the Illuvium discussion this graphic was given to the community by Johnny and has since been confirmed by the founding team of Illuvium confirming the release of the game. What is most important here is that in approximately 6 weeks after launch everyone’s data will be wiped. Effectively making that first bracket a test run before the game is adjusted and fixed for its more proper release schedule.
It is understood that there is a variety of noticeable bugs particularly in the UI that will need to be fixed and all of the animations won’t in the game for this ‘Season Zero’ in the game. Also game breaking bugs could severely impact people’s ability to gather blueprints and enjoy the experience so keeping the timeline segmented is best for the overall experience. It is easy to forget that this is the FIRST way for anyone in the Illuvium metaverse to earn NFT’s. So making sure the system isn’t broken and is fair for all is very very important.
What is Illuvium: Zero
Illuvium: Zero is a really important part of the Illuvium ecosystem since it provides fuel to the players who are engaging with the overworld to capture Illuvials.
Illuvium: Zero is a mobile game that is a companion to the Illuvium metaverse. To explain its core concepts and features we need to briefly explain the Illuvium economy and how Illuvium land fits in.
When someone wants to participate in Illuvium they need to travel to a region in the overworld, hunt and capture Illuvials. They can then use these Illuvials to play the core game against other players in an autobattler called the Illuvium: Arena. If these players want to capture the more rare Illuvials then they will also need to pay fuel. This acts as a system effectively equivalent to opening a pack of trading cards like Pokémon or Yu-Gi-Oh. They spend money to open their pack and discover the Illuvials they captured, then they can use it in the Arena.
But how does the land game factor in. The currency these players use to travel into the overworld is fuel, which is also used to heal Illuvials and upgrade and craft items inside the overworld. This fuel is purchased from the DAO but it isn’t quite so simple. In the Illuvium lore, fuel is produced by the land surrounding regions, Illuvium land owners have a serious amount of control over the price of fuel that players interact with. This is done by 5% of all fuel purchased being purchased from the landowners themselves. This also means that if landowners band together and don’t sell Crypton then the price of Crypton will increase given it is in short supply.
How does one produce fuel on their Illuvium land?
Every plot of land is unique, like the one you see above. You can explore other plots using this link: (https://illuvidex.illuvium.io/land/plots). Every tier has a different quantity of fuel resources however you can create all 3 kinds on every plot. Once you have produced this fuel you can either use it to further your city or you can sell it to the players in the Illuvium overworld. Once you do so it will be converted to Ethereum which is added to your wallet.
Land owners will have major freedom of choice when upgrading their land to essentially generate a stream of passive income. They don’t only need to produce fuel but can produce a special item called blueprints. Although rare and difficult to create, once a landowner mints a blueprint they can keep that NFT for as long as they want. It will enable its holder the ability to craft a special cosmetic item. Will they sell the crafted items? Or the blueprint itself?
Too many choices…
How to Optimise your land
Everyone’s land is different but Johnny has given many hints as to how you can optimise your experience and maximise fuel output.
In the video above I go into depth on the same tips I will mention here when it comes to optimising your land for the best possible outcome. I will be doing many more updated videos when the game is released so please don’t forget to subscribe. The 3 key takeaways are as follows:
Surround buildings with roads
To speed up the development of your city there is no downside to surrounding your buildings with roads on every side. This will make buildings upgrade faster so you can get to those later stages of development and research blueprints faster.
This should only be ignored once you start to fill up the space of your land and run out of effective places to put down buildings.
Maximise Efficiency
Every building has different boosts and disadvantages for the buildings they are placed nearby. This means that you need to be conscious of these efficiencies so you can max out your land faster than everyone else.
Although on smaller plots of land this might not matter much. On the larger tier plots you will have significantly more buildings and your overall efficiency could be severely harmed if you don’t manage this appropriately.
Blueprints
This is the single most important part of the Illuvium: Zero Alpha. Since everything is reset EXCEPT blueprints. This means that focusing on collecting all 15 blueprints is the highest priority.
This is done by scanning biodata and then when successful, you can research blueprints and hope you are lucky enough to get them. These will be extremely scarce and limited in supply so gathering as many as you can is always the top priority.
Can Illuvium: Zero bring in MILLIONS?
Illuvium: Zero has the opportunity to become a popular game in mobile gaming. Can that bring millions to Illuvium to make it the greatest Web 3 game of all time?
