Are Illuvitars worth preparing for?
Illuvitars is slated to launch sometime in Q1 of 2023 and I have already begun my preparations, should you also be considering them?
January as already started flying with the launch of the long-awaited Illuvium Zero alpha and lots of people enjoying the game on a daily basis. However 2023 is set to be the biggest year for Illuvium and will go down in history as the day Illuvium properly launched to the public. There is lots to consider however today we really only have time to dive deep into Illuvitars and the potential secrets it holds for us in a few months.
I can often go on many tangents during these newsletters and no one wants to read my boring ramblings on so I am going to keep each section as concise as makes sense from now on:
Illuvium Zero was a rousing success but what’s next
The ins and outs of Illuvitars
How am I preparing for Illuvitars to maximize exposure
What does the potential for Illuvium Land revenue look like when compared directly to the ILV token
We will cover all of that here and more so please keep reading. I am excited to share this journey with you.

What is next for Illuvium Zero?
We can easily review the below chart to quickly cover the upcoming changes to the Illuvium Zero game
Firstly we can see that Illuvium Zero has its first major reset occurring on the 21st of February. As soon as this point hits the goal is going to be blueprints, blueprints and more blueprints. Without forgetting that each individual plot can earn its own blueprints you can later mint on the blockchain. It is worth mentioning that you do not need to fully upgrade your plot to maximize your potential of finding all the blueprints of which there are 15. I will have videos and other content coming out about this in the future.
A few other key updates are that the graphics will be significantly upgraded during this time. Although the game already looks magnificent the team has been hard at work creating animations for every building and environment that will make Illuvium Zero one of the best looking mobile games in existence. Aside from this we are likely to see a range of different balance changes and updates come to the game potentially including the weakening of converters.
Once I have confirmed the details I will also outline the exact steps to take for you to be able to collect all 15 blueprints. I am already well on my way to doing that before we have even reset and have a good grasp on the best and easiest way to attain this goal. Its easy to forgot that you don’t need to upgrade your scanners or material labs considering only Tier 1 illuvials are available during the game alpha. If you want further details on Illuvium Zero and getting blueprints you can watch this video here:
What are Illuvitars?
Illuvitars are a series of profile pictures that will represent the players of the Illuvium universe. They are highly collectable and customizable.
Illuvitars are collectable profile pictures for use within the Illuvium universe, not only that but you can apply accessories to a range of beautiful Illuvial portraits to make them truly unique. With billions of possible combinations you do not need to spend a lot of money to acquire something truly unique and memorable. This is a feat very few projects can say they have truly achieved, not only that but Illuvitars are speculated to become their very own trading card game in the future.
The first thing that needs to be said is you can already go to the Illuvidex and test build your own Illuvitar: https://illuvium.io/illuvitars, and honestly its actually a lot of fun. An Illuvitar consists of 6 potential components, a base portrait and 5 accessories. The combination you make is completely up to you! Accessories are all individual and don’t vary between themselves however the base portraits can have a series of rarities. Each image can have a variety of different background colours, they can be holographic and even have different facial expressions. They are also considerably more rare than accessories given they come less frequently in the D1sks.
And that brings us to D1sks. There are 2 kinds of D1sks confirmed so far however partnerships are likely to have a completely different D1sk altogether that you can also purchase to pull from a different set of Illuvitars.
These prices, 0.015 ETH and 0.075 ETH are already confirmed and they should be the prices we experience for batch 1 of Illuvitars. There will also not be a set limit to purchase however they will have a time limit on any given batch. After this time you won’t be able to find those Illuvitars ever again besides buying them off another user on the open market. These sILV2 prices reflect the ILV price in comparison to Ethereum at any given time and you can see this fluctuate on the website. Since sILV2 is worth approximately half the value of ILV. At the time of writing this you can acquire a Mega D1sk with a guaranteed Illuvitar for approximately $60 USD.
The other major component of Illuvitars is the album and collecting aspects. Every Illuvitar will belong to a variety of collections and completing as many as you can is the aim of the game. An Atlas will belong to not only the set of water and bulwark Illuvials, but stage 1, tier 1 and even blue background Illuvials. Not only are there billions of combinations but there are hundreds of sets to complete which is nearly impossible unless you are willing to drop millions. This will keep collectors coming back for more in years to come.
What is my plan for Illuvitars
I have always felt Illuvitars is underrated and given how collectable they are and accessible to a variety of audiences there are many factors to consider.
The first thing we need to do in regards to Illuvitars is find some comparisons for projects that are creating similar things or have had PFP sales in the Web 3 space. The only obvious parallel to Illuvitars at this point in time is doodles since they are attempting something similar in terms of avatar customization. It is hard to compare any project realistically because Illuvitars doesn’t have an upper limit of sales and therefore we cannot extrapolate any ‘floor price’ data points considering I expect supply to be vastly different by comparison.
Let us take a look at the supply they did mint and the price. They used quite a unique auction system that allowed people to bid at what they expected the price to be for the doodle boxes and then get refunded the difference based on the winning bids in the auction. In the end the 24,000 boxes sold for 0.508 ETH each, visible here: https://doodles.app/auction#results. This means the auction netted a total of 12,192 Eth or in todays terms approximately $20 million dollars. This auction also occurred at the end of June, at a max pain point for the entire crypto markets and lower than it is right now. We must recognise that the market is still at a different place right now than it was then over 6 months ago but it is definitely worth noting this achievement. Additionally it has generated 2,891 ETH of volume since its creation, if we take a 5% royalty as it says on Opensea that has netted Doodles an additional $231,280. It is worth considering that these buyers chose to spend this amount on a project with even less notoriety that Illuvium has, it has some similarities considering they can also choose to freely spend as much as they want on Illuvitars albeit the low supply was likely a key selling point for doodles.
We also know that Illuvitars will have some epic partnerships coming to it leading me to draw some comparisons with major brands that have had NFT drops this past 3 months or so. I know it seems overly enthusiastic to compare Illuvitars to major brands but we must consider that not only does Kieran have many connections in Web 2 but he loves his luxury brands and wants nothing but the best for Illuvium partnerships. Now let’s take a look at Gucci.
They released an NFT collection in partnership with Superplastic on February 1, 2022. In terms of crypto and financial markets environment its incomparable unfortunately but each NFT sold for 1.5 ETH at approximately $4000 as denoted in USD. Given there was 1000 NFTs this totals approximately 4 million dollars people were willing to spend on Gucci. If Illuvium manages a partnership of this caliber then it could not only draw more eyes to the Illuvium universe but become a powerful revenue driver.
Lastly Gods unchained is a card game that has card packs people can purchase, this offers some similarities considering Illuvitars has recently been discussed to also be a part of an upcoming Illuvium card game called Illuvium outer worlds. Gods unchained is the premiere trading card game in Web 3 currently and is also featured on IMX making it the perfect candidate for comparison. Although I don’t have the exact data the recent set of Mortal Judgement has sold about 2 million dollars worth of card packs since April. In comparison every week they have about 2 million dollars worth of volume and a total of $130m over its history.
This project isn’t the most popular but you cannot deny that people are currently playing the game and willing to purchase new card sets as they release. If we were to average across our 3 mediums of $20m, $4m and $2m then we could potentially expect $5-8m in revenue to be generated for Illuvitars over the course of 12 months. However the market is constantly changing and this data is all very speculative. What’s most important is there is a market for Illuvitars and collecting as many and as much variety as is within your means will likely be the best way forward long term if you intend to collect them as an investment vehicle.
Please don’t forget to subscribe for free, I really appreciate it.
